AC/DC Get Louder On EPIC Reissues
February 20, 2003AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young says that the recently-reissued versions of the group's classic LPs are louder and more forceful sounding than previous CD editions of the albums. "That's the big plus, I thought. You know, I stuck one on the other day, and I stuck the new one on to compare, and it was like a good 30...I'd say 30-percent louder, maybe more, you know? If I look on my CD deck, it's sitting right at the top, just before the red, and it doesn't move from there."
The long-running Australian rockers have just released new editions of "Back In Black", "Highway To Hell", "High Voltage", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", and single- and double-CD versions of "Live". The reissue campaign continues on March 25 with "Who Made Who", "Let There Be Rock", "The Razor's Edge", "For Those About To Rock", and "Powerage", with new versions of "If You Want Blood You Got It", "Flick Of The Switch", "Fly On The Wall", "'74 Jailbreak", and "Blow Up Your Video" due May 20. The albums come with expanded liner notes and artwork, and the CDs give fans access to an Internet site containing additional music, videos, and other information.
AC/DC will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on March 10.
